Novembers Block of the Month

November Block of the Month Chisholm Trail Finished Size 12" Unfinished Size 12 ½" Cutting Instructions: From Dark Fabric: 28" X 4" strip From Medium Fabric: 2 3 ½" Squares From Light Fabric: 28" X 4" strip Assembly: Cut a light and dark strip 4" X 28". Stack both strips together right sides together. Mark 7 - 4" squares and then mark the diagonals within those squares in the diagram shown below. Sew ¼" away from the marked diagonal lines starting in the upper left corner sewing in one continuous line. Pivot the fabric and sew back the other side of the line.

Cut the fabric ON the marked diagonal lines and the 4" square marks. Press open to the dark. You should have 14 dark and light ½ square triangles. Square off each to 3 ½". Referring to the block diagram at the top of the page, sew the ½ square triangles and medium 3 ½" square units into rows and then sew the rows together
