Dear Evening Star Quilters,
As you all know, we are still looking for some good,
enthusiastic volunteers to help run our organization.
Papers were passed out by the nominating committee and
I hope that you are putting some thought into people
that you would like to represent you.
And I'm still looking for a person to be in charge
of Hospitality. Know anyone? Let me know.
One person I would like to welcome to our ranks is
our new bus trip person, Deb Bonnard. I'm sure she'll
be having some news for you a meeting sometime soon.
See you all at the next meeting when we put the finishing
touches on our Mineola Quilts!

COMMUNITY SERVICE
NEWS

WANTED. . . community service quilts
With three-quarters of the year behind us, there are
only three meetings (March 2, April 6, and May 4) when
handing in a community service quilt will fulfill your
obligation for the 2006 guild year. We¹ll be waiting
with baskets to collect them, and they will be appreciated
by us and the charities that receive them.
In February, Leni Blumenfeld, Joann Isernia, Janet
Piwarski, and Sonia Seth contributed a total of seven
quilts, and Nancy Spatafora gave us nine more wheelchair
bags. Many thanks, Ladies.
At our March meeting we hope to finish our "Mineola
Quilts." Remember, the "Mineola Quilts" are not our
community service quilts.
Please help wrap some unfortunate people in the warmth
of a lovely quilt and the warmth of knowing that someone
out there cares.

TRIP NEWS:
PIECEFUL PATCHERS is running a bus trip to Quilters'
Heritage Quilt Show in Lancaster PA on Saturday April
8th.
There is room on their bus if anyone would like to
join them.
Cost is $61 and pickup at 6:30 AM at Williston Park
Town Hall and 6:45 at Floral Park Town Hall. The cost
includes bus, tip for driver, admission to the show
and dinner at Miller's Smorgasbord at 5 PM.
If interested, please bring check payable to Pieceful
Patchers to the March 2nd meeting. Please put you pick
up spot and phone number on the check.
